Roy's Basses

STUFF I ENDORSE

Eden Amplification
I use a WT 600 Road Runner Head and one or two 210XLT cabs.

Carvin Basses
I use fretted and fretless Carvin LB76 and 76A six string basses. They're great, solid, inexpensive basses that work in a variety of situations.

Conklin/Groove Tools Basses
As you can see from the pics on my web site, I also use the mighty Groove Tools GTBD-7 Bill Dickens model 7-String Bass. World-class electronics and woodwork-how can you lose? www.conklinguitars.com

Hotwire Basses
I also use an extremely innovative fretless 6-string bass made for me by German Bassbuilding wizard Magnus Krempel and exported by Hotwire Basses. Sounds like an upright-really!

STUFF I USE AND REALLY LIKE
(but don't formally endorse at the moment)

Modulus Basses
I have 2-a fretted Quantum 6 with Bartolini electronics and a fretless Quantum 6 with EMG electronics. They are studio workhorses for me and I use them often on sessions.

Alembic Basses
What can you say?-the Legend! I have a 1976 Series I medium scale 4 string for when I need to get in touch with my inner Stanley...

Chapman Stick
Mine was formerly owned by the late Dee Murray and is tuned like two bass necks (B-E-A-D-G on the bass side and E-A-D-G-C piccolo on the treble side. I tune both necks in 4ths to avoid migraines :-)

Cakewalk Pro Audio 9
I use this for preproduction and writing.

Steinberg Cubase VST 32 5.00
I use this extremely powerful software program for audio production,
mastering, pre-production, composing and arranging.

Carruthers EUB-1
The electric upright for die hard URB gigs/sessions.
